A private path is a tool, not a stance

I used to talk about off-market like it was the better way, full stop. I have softened on that. A private path is one tool. A public listing with a strong agent is another. The home tells you which.

When privacy matters more than reach, or when the lot itself is the story, a quiet path fits. When a home just needs to be seen by as many buyers as possible, a listing wins. That is not a rivalry, it is a fit question.

So I try to give owners the honest read, even when the honest read sends them to a listing. That is better for them, and it is better for how I want to be known.
